Full Moon in Sagittarius
Release of Burdens & Leap Into the Unknown
The Full Moon in Sagittarius will take place at 7:43 am UT on 6/11/2025 at 20 degrees. There is both an optimism and a tension about this Full Moon. It is square the Lunar Nodes Rahu & Ketu at 22 degrees of Virgo & Pisces respectively, so with both mutable axis activated there is a strong current of change requiring adaptability for what is incoming as some may already be strongly be attuned to.
Sagittarius is associated with optimism and the ability to take risks more readily than most other signs, to leap into the unknown. For most people the unknown can be a bit daunting to contemplate. It requires faith and a certain amount of inner fortitude. It brings to mind the 10 of Wands from the Minor Arcana of the Tarot, titled “The Lord of Oppression”. It corresponds to this 3rd decan of Sagittarius which is ruled by Saturn in the Chaldean order & the Sun by triplicity. The card shows a man carrying 10 wands, and is indicating how one may feel over overburdened with the Saturnian obstacles weighing one down, preventing one from speaking and walking one’s truth. But also with the Sun in triplicity rulership, the Solar Light archetypically symbolic of Truth is sustaining one through whatever Oppression is externally being projected upon one, be it others beliefs, doubts or fears which one may now be realizing is not one’s to carry. One can set these things aside, although acknowledging that they are there and they are simply other perspectives. One’s & other’s perspectives are opinions, truths subjectively speaking but not the Truth. Not fully. So the Full Moon in this decan is indicating one’s worldview clashing with other’s, where both may only be seeing what they want to see, perhaps with rose tinted glasses. The Archer must aim his bow carefully, sharpening focus fading out distraction that may detour from hitting the target. It may feel like aiming a shot in the dark…
With the Moon at her maximum point of illumination it speaks to having enough inner light absorbed, reflected from the Sun, Truth, to continue the journey into the wanning phase, through a necessary fading into the dark to reach a new beginning. This requires navigating with faith from this point forward into the seemingly chaotic unknown. All is within, the Full Moon in Sagittarius is a reminder to always look within for guidance. The inner teacher is always there.
The ruler of this Lunation, Jupiter just made an ingress into the sign of Cancer where it enjoys its highest dignity of Exaltation. This does provide a greater sense of hope for what is to come although Jupiter is also engaged in a square to Saturn that is building to perfect on the 15th. This indicates the reality check that Saturn is bringing to Jupiter’s & the Sagittarius Moon’s optimistic leap. This not to say one should not be optimistic or take risks at this time as it may in fact be quite an auspicious time for some to do so, but to do so with caution and well thought out plans before leaping is all that Saturn currently at 1 degree of impulsive Aries is asking for.
Mercury the speedy messenger God is also in Cancer conjunct Jupiter at the moment beginning to separate. This conjunction began in Airy Gemini, Mercury’s domain and their chat is ending in the Watery domain of the Moon where emotions and intuition tend to override logic & reason. Mercury is processing information though a filter that is aiming at understanding one’s current emotions. With a mix of optimism, open to all the possibilities Jupiter offers, but also the limits Saturn brings with the square and the confusion Neptune adds as well, the intellectual rational Mercurial archetype is indicating a bit of a struggle to clearly discern what is what and how to even begin to formulate a plan to move forward until after Mercury has cleared the square. Once moved into Leo on the 26th, the Messenger will station retrograde on 7/17 which alerts one to an imminent period of analysis and review coming. All this to say, the process forward will not be quick and the archetypal Sagittarian faith and commitment towards living one’s truth, though reaching it’s peak indicated by the Full Moon is merely providing the tools (faith & optimism) needed to finish the second part of this cyclic journey, waning into the unknown. This is shedding half of the Lunation cycle.
Mars in Leo is also perfecting a tense square to Uranus in Taurus indicating disruptions, hot tempers, sudden or unexpected reactions or on the positive side standing one’s ground, defending one’s dignity or having the confidence to go for it! This more so indicated by how this transit in configured to one’s chart.
A sextile silver lining will be perfecting between Mercury & Venus in her Earthy domicile of Taurus.
This aspect is perfecting shortly after the Full Moon and indicates an incoming opportunity. It is an energy of cooperation, intellectually nourishing, expressive of beauty and materially stable. Although not aspecting the Moon it is providing some support by connecting both of the Moon’s domiciles in a harmonious configuration.
